This is the same general GRE test that is done at a test center. The only difference is that you use your own equipment and you are monitored online by a human supervisor. Take the test at a center or at home where you feel most comfortable, so you can do your best. You can take the GRE General Exam once every 21 days, up to five times in any continuous 12-month (365 days) period.
This applies even if you canceled your scores on a previously taken exam. Taking the GRE at home proved to be a relatively stress-free experience for Jill, aside from the check in, which was a hassle. Transferring the registration from face-to-face to online took time, and Jill also had to borrow a Windows laptop from her mother, since the trial can't be managed on a Mac unless the Mac has the Windows operating system installed. Fortunately, the actual testing experience was almost perfect and ETS has solved both problems.
GRE at home can now be done on Mac and the registration process has been significantly simplified. ETS allows you to take GRE at home any time of the day or night 7 days a week. Jill had the option of taking the exam at 2 in the morning, while the world was sleeping, but instead she chose to do it at a more conventional time at 8 in the morning. Unlike the LSAT-Flex test, which is shorter than its previous face-to-face counterpart, the GRE At Home remains the same duration.
A physical whiteboard or plastic sheet protector is required for the GRE at home if a student needs to solve problems. The supervisor must be able to see the students delete their grades. The use of pen or paper is not allowed. Jill had bought the board on Amazon a couple of weeks earlier, and she took a couple of practice tests with the same whiteboard, so she was used to it by the time the real test arrived.

If you don't have roommates or siblings screaming in the hallways or canines scratching at your door, you may find the experience less stressful than going to a crowded center and taking it with a dozen people stressed about the test.
